Angel Taveras, Patrick Kennedy, in EP Tuesday

Providence Mayor Angel Taveras will be joined by former U.S. Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy at Rumford Towers in East Providence to visit with local seniors and talk about issues facing Rhode Island.

Kennedy recently endorsed Taveras in the upcoming Democratic primary. According to a release, Taveras will discuss his run for governor and share his seven-point plan to support Rhode Island’s seniors.

Following the speaking program, members of the East Providence Fire Department will be providing free blood pressure testing for those in attendance.

The event starts at 8:30 a.m. for a meet and greet over breakfast. The speaking program is scheduled to begin at 9:10 a.m.

Rumford Towers is located at 95 Newman Ave., East Providence.
