Antonio J. 'Tony' da Graca, 90

He was married to Mariana da Graca for 61 years; calling hours are today from 4 to 8 pm at W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home in Riverside.

Antonio J. "Tony" da Graca Sr., of Seventh Street, East Providence, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at home. He was 90.

He was the husband of Mariana (Gonsalves) da Graca; they were married for 61 years. Born in Brava, Cape Verde Island, he was a son of the late Jose Joao and Mariana (Gibau) da Graca.

He was employed with the former Washburn Wire Co. for 34 Years and the East Providence School Department before retirement. He served in the Portuguese Army prior to coming to the U.S. in 1948.

He was a devoted husband and father, and enjoyed dancing and being with his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his six children, Maria "Mindy", and Antoinette da Graca, Julie Hazard, Alicia Waters, Delores Nelson, Antonio "Anthony" da Graca Jr.; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Manuel, Joao, Clarimundo and Maria da Graca, Ana da Silva and Isabel Rose.

His funeral will be held on Monday, Feb. 25, from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, at 8 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter St., East Providence at 10 am. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
