Arraigned Friday: EP Man Charged With Drunk Driving Over Accident That Killed Fiancee's Son

Jahmeere Valles-Holloway, 8, of East Providence, died after a head-on crash in February. A 2-year-old was also hurt.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—A Not Guilty plea was entered Friday in Kent County Superior Court for Justin Preston, of East Providence. He is the alleged drunk driver involved in a head-on collision with two children in the car last February. Preston's own 2-year-old child survived the crash. But his fiancée's son did not. Jahmeere Valles-Holloway, 8, of East Providence, died at Hasbro Children's Hospital.

Preston was arraigned Friday on three charges: Driving under the Influence (Death Resulting); Driving to endanger/physical injury, and operating on a suspended license (3 victims), according to the state Attorney General's office. Bail was set at $25,000 with surety. The magistrate also imposed two conditions: "to continue in residential at Phoenix House and no driving," the Attorney General's office said.

His next court date is Aug. 10.
