Arthur Raposa, of North Prospect St., East Providence, died Jan. 15, 2013 at home. He was 87.
He was born in Fall River, MA, the son of the late Manuel and Elsie (Santos) Raposa.
He worked as a switchboard operator for the VA Hospital. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army.

He is survived by his daughter, Diana Ferreira and her husband, Frank, of East Providence; three grandchildren, Tammy, Brandon and his wife, Nikki, and Justin. He was the father of the late Robert Raposa.
Calling hours are today, Jan. 17, from 5 to 8 pm at Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence.

His funeral will begin on Friday at 8 am from Rebello with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter St., East Providence.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
