Attempted Robbery at East Providence Convenience Store

East Providence police have one person they anticipate charging and are questioning another in connection with the attempted robbery of a convenience store Monday night.

The incident at the Broadway Mart took place between 8:30 and 8:40 p.m. on Monday night, Lt. Michael David said. Police are still investigating whether a weapon was used during the incident at the store, which is located in the 1000 block of South Broadway.

Police anticipate charging one person with assault with intent to commit robbery, according to David. Another person is being questioned in connection with the incident and police aren't looking for anyone else.
