East Providence is home to a vibrant and highly visible Portuguese population and outstanding Portuguese food.

Enter O Dinis restaurant. You'd almost miss it if it wasn't for the scores of people coming and going outside of the brick building on Warren Ave. Yet, inside is a surprisingly broad space with ample seating and diverse decor. (There's a deer on the wall — or is it an elk?)

Tucked in the corner is a full-service bar where the phone frequently rings. This place comes complete with the hustle and bustle of any popular eatery, but it's not distracting. Most of the noise comes from the table of patrons trading stories and laughs. 

O Dinis takes pride in serving up authentic Portuguese cuisine, so don't expect every fish plate to be de-boned. The sweet bread is, well, pretty sweet and is available by the plenty.

Like any great Portuguese restaurant, fish is the name of the game. They also have a variety of seafood dishes, including shrimp marinated in spices that will make you feel like you're lounging in the Azores.
