Contractor, Not City, Bought Fuel From TLA/Pond View Property Owner
The fuel was needed over a weekend for a generator during sewer main repairs.

A contractor for East Providence, not the city itself, recently bought fuel from TLA/Pond View property owner Ken Foley when it was needed to power generators during emergency sewer main repairs.
The city's director of public works, Stephen Coutu, clarified that point in a phone interview Tuesday.

The contractor paid for the fuel and has a fixed agreement with East Providence, so the fuel did not cost the city extra money, Coutu said.
