David V. Sousa, 91, Worked for Many Years at Davol Rubber

David V. Sousa, of Hobson Street, East Providence, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Rhode Island Hospital. He was 91.

He was the partner of Maria Louisa daPonte and the former husband of Ildeberta Sousa. Born April 2, 1921, in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Julio Sousa and Francisca (Vieira) Sousa.

He worked many years at Davol Rubber Co. He was the father of Cluverio Sousa, Nisberto Sousa, Liberto Sousa, Marino Sousa, Juvelino Sousa, Daulina Sousa, and Lorienne Sousa; grandfather of 18 and great-grandfather of 2.

He was also the brother of Elias Sousa, and of the late Maria Pacheco, Genoveva Silva, Isaias Sousa, Jose Sousa, Daniel Sousa and Manuel Sousa.

His funeral will begin Wednesday, March 27, at 9:45 am from the Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse St., Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
