East Providence Celebrates Flag Day and Day of Portugal [Video]

East Providence leaders honored the flags of both the United States and Portugal during a ceremony at City Hall Tuesday. 

Following the color guard from the East Providence police department, city leaders talked about the importance of honoring both traditions. 

The Continental Congress adopted to the official American flag in 1777, according to a city news release. And Day of Portugal recognized the Portuguese revolution on April 25, 1975.
