The council split 3-2 on whether to approve a termination agreement for former City Manager Richard Brown.

The East Providence City Council narrowly approved an agreement to terminate former City Manager Richard Brown.
The council took the vote after coming out of executive session Tuesday night. A copy of the agreement was not provided. Asked how much the agreement cost the city, Mayor Bruce Rogers said the information would be part of the agreement, which could be accessed with a public records request.
The Council voted to shortly after members took office on Dec. 1. At Tuesday night's meeting, Rogers, Assistant Mayor Thomas Rogers and Councilwoman Katie Kleyla voted in favor of the agreement.
