East Providence To Hold Special Meeting On Speed Cameras
Public discourse session will discuss, seek input on proposed speed cameras school zones.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI —A special public meeting in East Providence will be held to discuss the use of speed cameras in East Providence school zones. City County President Robert Britto and the East Providence City Council will host the meeting designed to be an interactive forum on the proposed cameras.
The meeting will be held Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. in the East Providence City Hall Council Chambers on Taunton Avenue.
The Providence City Council last month unanimously approved a proposal to consider installing the cameras. Providence and Pawtucket have already installed speed cameras in school zones with East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva saying that indications are the cameras have led to safer schools zones in those communities.
