East Providence Jr. Townies Need Your Help Getting to National Championships

Teams are only two games away from representing New England at the Pop Warner National Championships at the ESPN Wide World or Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

To the editor,

The East Providence Jr. Townies need your help!

In the first year of our organization, the combined East Providence Mohawks and Riverside Raiders have put their new name on the map. This past Sunday, The East Providence Jr. Townies Jr. Pee-Wee's defeated the Middletown Islanders, and the Jr. Midget's defeated the Edgewood Eagles for the 2011 Rhode Island State Championship title. The Jr. Pee-Wee's had an impressive season going 12-0 with only two touchdowns allowed. The Jr. Midget's were equally impressive with a record of 11-0-1.

Right now, both teams are only two games away from representing New England at the Pop Warner National Championships held December 3-10 at the ESPN Wide World or Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

The cost to send each child to Nationals is between $1,300-$1,800 and with approximately 52 kids on the combined teams along with coaches and chaperones, we need the help of the community to help get us there!
