East Providence Mourns Loss Of 5-Year-Old Blake

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — A 5-year-old East Providence boy was celebrated for his big personality despite a lifetime of struggles this week after losing his fight with cancer.

Blake Costa died of brain cancer last Thursday. Relatives remembered him as a boy whose happiness was evident despite struggling with cancer for four years.

Because of social distancing rules limiting the amount of mourners at a funeral amid the new coronarius health crisis, only very close family was allowed in the funeral. But a WJAR-TV report said several members of the East Providence police and fire departments came to the funeral to show their support for the boy and his valiant fight.
