East Providence Opens Applications For Community Block Grants
East Providence has $762,169 in community block grants available for Fiscal 2020-21.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence is soliciting proposals for more than a quarter of a million dollars in Community Development Block Grant funds for Fiscal 2020-21. Funding categories include economic development, public facilities, affordable housing and public service.
“We encourage local agencies, businesses, entrepreneurs and developers to apply," Mayor Bob DaSilva said.
Applications and technical assistance are available by contacting Community Development Director David Bachrach at 401-435-7536 or dbachrach@cityofeastprov.com, or by mailing a request to Community Development Office, 145 Taunton Ave., East Providence. An application workshop will be held March 16 at 6 p.m. at East Providence City Hall. All applications, which can be found here, must be received by April 3 at 4 p.m.

The submitted proposals will be scored according to the Evaluation Criteria in this RFP and recommendations for funding will be presented at a Public Hearing during a City Council meeting on April 7 at City Hall a 7 p.m. Those submitting proposals are invited to make a brief presentaiton at the public meeting.
Proposals will be open to comment starting on May 8. Comments will be included in the one-year funding plan submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by May 15.
