East Providence Police Selling Down Syndrome Advocacy Patches

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence police will sell patches during October to advocate for people with down syndrome.

The patches coincide with Down Syndrome Awareness Month and will be sold and worn by officers throughout the month.

"It is a time to celebrate people with down syndrome and make others aware of their abilities and accomplishments," East providence police said in a statement.

The patches are $10 and can be purchased in the police station lobby from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Sales are cash only.

All proceeds will be donated to the Down Syndrome Society of RI, Inc.
