East Providence Teen Charged in Barrington Vandalism Now Linked to Tagging in Warren

Four young women — including one from East Providence — have been charged with vandalism in Warren.

Four teens involved in a vandalism spree in Barrington last month are now being charged with vandalizing a Warren park.

According to Warren police, Jessica Boukarim, 18, of 113 Walmer Ave., East Providence, Samatha Ferreira, 20, of 124 Maple Ave., Barrington, Sarah Letoile, 19, of Swansea, MA, and Tanya Sirignano, 18, of 29 Ide Ave., East Providence, were charged on Monday, June 6, for vandalizing areas of the playground at the on Water Street.

The women spraypainted words and designs on playground equipment. One even painted one of the girls' names, "Sam," with a heart and a smiley face.

Police said that after the teens were charged with "tagging" several areas around Barrington, they admitted to Barrington police that they had also vandalized areas of the Warren park. Police believe the vandalism was done around the same time as the vandalism in Barrington.

According to Sgt. Roland Brule, the charge is a misdemeanor and the women could face up to one year in jail, a fine up to $1,000 and restitution.
