Edna M. Chagnon, 91

She was a lifelong resident of Riverside in East Providence.

 

Edna M. Chagnon, of Hoppin Avenue, Riverside, East Providence, died on Jan. 4, 2013. She was 91.

Born in Newport, a daughter of the late Sidney and Rose (Coleman) Durrant, she was a lifelong resident of Riverside.

She was a CNA at United Methodist Health Care Center and a receptionist at the Orchard View Manor.

She was a communicant of St. Mark Episcopal Church, Riverside and active in the Episcopal Club for Women. She was a member of the Rumford Grange for 55 years. She enjoyed music, singing, solving crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol J. O’Brien of Riverside; three granddaughters, Dena M. O’Brien of Riverside, Dawn M. Clarke and her husband, William, of Barrington, and Shannon B. Rosciti of Lincoln, and four great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Bernard Durrant and his wife, Trudy.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday Jan. 9, 2013, in the Saints Matthew & Mark Episcopal Church, 5 Chapel Road, Barrington at 10 am to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence.
