Engineers Lower Turner Reservoir Water Levels

The Army Corp of Engineers cut into a dam wall to install fish ladders.

Even in the rain, water levels at the Turner Reservoir are noticeably lower due to an ongoing installation project run by the Army Corp of Engineers.

According to Michael Bartlett, assistant superintendent of , the level of the reservoir has been lowered at the request of the Army Corp of Engineers. Their contractor is currently working on the installation of fish ladders at both the reservoir and Hunt’s Mill dams. As part of the construction, they have made two cuts into the existing dam wall structure.

"Until the ladder and a control gate are installed, the water level needs to remain low," he wrote in an e-mail.
