Johnny Appleseed (John Chapman) was born in Leominster, Massachuestts on September 26, 1774. He is remembered as an American pioneer nurseryman who introduced apple trees to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois and for his kind and generous ways. We'll celebrate his birthday with a story about his life, a craft and some delicious apple snacks. We'll also explore the different varieties of apples that grow locally.
