East Providence Fire on Sutton Avenue
A house on Sutton Avenue was a total loss, the fire department said.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — Firefighters responded to a home on Sutton Avenue around 11:30 Thursday morning, according to Battalion Chief Glenn J. Quick. The firefighters were still at the scene at 5:15 p.m. The whole department turned out to fight the fire, he said.
Six engines, two ladder trucks, three rescues, one special hazards truck, cars for the chief, the fire marshal and other administrative staff responded. Another truck was also sent to the scene.
The building is a total loss, he confirmed. But no one was injured. He did not have any information about pets that might have been involved.

The cause of the fire is still under unknown, he said. The basement was filled with water and had to be pumped out before the fire marshal could start investigating.
