Officers placed him in a cruiser. Neighbors reportedly began to turn on their lights to see the cause of the noise. Lopez allegedly proceeded to spit at the officers and call them derogatory names while in the cruiser. To get him secured in the back seat and stop him from lunging forward, officers attempted to restrain him. He reportedly continued to fight and then kicked an officer in the chest. He was then tasered in the leg by an officer.
Lopez was then brought to a cell block in the East Providence Police Department. He reportedly complained of chest pains and a emergency rescue team was brought in to assess his condition. A photo was taken to document red marks on his leg caused from the taser. He was brought to the hospital and given a summons to report to Sixth District Court.
