Former East Providence Volleyball Coach Moves to Bryant
Luis Carvalho will join the volleyball staff at Bryant College, after four years as head coach of Rhode Island College.

Former East Providence High School volleyball coach Luis Carvalho has decided to join the staff at Bryant University.
According to a Bryant news release, Carvalho, who spent the past four years coaching at Rhode Island College, will join the Bryant coaching staff for the 2011 season.
"I am so excited to have Lou join our staff," Bryant University volleyball head coach Theresa Garlacy said in the release. "He is one of the most successful and knowledgeable volleyball coaches in the state. Lou understands the fundamentals of the game and has such a passion for the sport. He has been part of the rich tradition of Bryant Volleyball through the success of his daughter, Hall of Famer Jennifer Carvalho-Bailey, and now returns to the program to add yet another layer to his – and our – legacy."

In Carvalho's 25 years coaching girls volleyball at East Providence High School, he led the team to seven Rhode Island Division I state championships, according to the release.
