Frank L. Hannaway, Ex-Administrator for Little League

He was a personnel manager for Key Container, Providence library and Hasbro and very active in St. Martha's Church in East Providence.

Frank L. Hannaway, of Riley Drive died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. 

He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Szeflinski) Hannaway.  He was born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Robert T. and Dorothy (Taylor) Hannaway.  

Hannaway was a Personnel Manager for the Key Container Corporation before retiring. He previously worked for the Providence Public Library and Hasbro Industries.

He was a communicant of St. Martha’s Church and served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and Treasurer of the St. Vincent dePaul Society. Hannaway was the former Little League District Administrator, RI District 2, former President of the East Providence Central Little League and a former Trustee of the East Providence Public Library.  He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War.

He leaves three daughters, Kathleen Letourneau and her husband Daniel of Burrillville, Nancy Marshall and her husband Robert and Sharon Hannaway all of East Providence;  one son, Steven Hannaway and his wife Neli of East Providence;  six grandchildren, Brian Letourneau, Amy Letourneau, Craig Hannaway, Chelsea Hannaway, Jennifer Marshall and Steven Marshall and one great-grandson, Zachary Letourneau.  He was the brother of the late Ethel Hopkinson, Elinor Bray, John MacFarlane, Earl and Robert Hannaway.

His funeral will be held on Monday  at 9 AM  from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home,  2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM  in St. Martha’s Church, 2595 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Sunday from 4 to 8 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Home & Hospice Care of RI or the St. Martha’s Church, St. Vincent dePaul Society would be appreciated.
