Juvelino A. Meneses, 90

Juvelino A. Meneses, of East Providence, died Feb. 1, 2013, at Orchard View Manor, East Providence. He was 90.

He was the husband of the late Maria (Ormonde) Meneses. Born in Praia da Vitoria, Terceira, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio de Sousa de Meneses and Maria do Socorro (Almeida) de Meneses.

He worked as a machine operator for Union Camp for 20 years before retiring in 1987.

He is survived by his children, Jose J. Meneses and Angela Kinder both of Bradenton, Florida, and Fatima DaPonte and Maria DaRocha both of East Providence. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Leonard, Dennis, Christian, Melissa, Christina, Mystie, Amy and Devon and his great-grandchildren, Monica, Joshua, Kayley and Dylan. He was the brother of Luis Meneses of Terceira, Azores and the late Jose, Antonio and Manuel Meneses, Ines Cardoso, Joao Almeida and Carolina Ormonde.

His funeral will begin on Wednesday at 9 am from the Rebello Funeral Home,  901 Broadway, East Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am in St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are today, Feb. 5, from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
