Marion (Sword) McCabe, 91
She lived in Rumford for 53 years, an active member Church of the Epiphany and the March of Dimes for 40 years.

Marion (Sword) McCabe, 91, of Don Avenue, Rumford, East Providence, died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Kindred Brigham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newburyport, Mass. She was 91.
She was the wife of the late Francis A. McCabe. Born in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Emma G. (McCauley) Sword.
She had lived in Rumford for the past 53 years. She was a 1938 graduate of Cumberland High School and a 1942 graduate of Rhode Island College of Education, now Rhode Island College.

She was very active at St. Michael & All Angels Church, now the Church of the Epiphany in Rumford, where she served on the vestry, was an usher and Bazaar Chairman. She was also very active for 40 years with the RI Chapter of the March of Dimes where she was the State Volunteer Advisor and started the Knitting Hats For Newborns Program. She was a former member of Wannamoisett Country Club.
She is survived by six children, Carol M. Correia of Huntington Beach, Calif., Barbara M. Newton of Seekonk, Mass., Paul B. McCabe of Thailand, Joan D. McCabe of New York City, Christine M. Tomlinson of Newburyport, Mass. and Melanie M. Martin of Houston, Tex.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Her Requiem Eucharist will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 11am in the Church of the Epiphany, 1336 Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited.
