Obituary: Edmund Francis Anelundi, 65
Edmund F. Anelundi, Capt., EPFD, ret., 65, formerly of First St., East Providence, passed away gently surrounded by his family Dec. 21.

Edmund F. Anelundi, Capt., EPFD, ret., 65, formerly of First St., East Providence, passed away gently surrounded by his family Sunday night, Dec. 21, 2014 at the Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born Aug. 28, 1949, in Providence, he was a son of Edmund Anelundi of Riverside and the late Jacqueline (Trenn) Anelundi.
A 1968 graduate of East Providence High School, he proudly served in the US Armed Forces, first with the Marines during the Vietnam War and later with the US Army during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He was a graduate of the US Army nursing program. Ed was a firefighter with the East Providence Fire Dept. retiring after 29 years as a Captain. He also had been a volunteer firefighter with the Swansea Fire Dept. and had worked as a nursing supervisor at the East Providence Medical Center.
In addition to his father, he leaves his children and their spouses, Christopher and Querima Anelundi of Temple, TX, Jennifer and Aaron Bergeron of Warwick and Bethany and Jason Pires of Swansea; his grandchildren, Callen, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Aleshia, Jaden and Ethan; and his sister, Judy Anelundi Whitesboro, TX.
His funeral will begin Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 11am from the Rebello Funeral Home and Crematory with military honors and burial following at the RI Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, 5pm until 8pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
