1 Dead In East Providence Crash On I-195

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 195 eastbound early Wednesday morning. East Providence police said the crash happened around 3 a.m. near Exit 7. No other vehicles were involved.

Police say the unidentified male victim was not believed to have been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

WPRI reports that Exit 7 was closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the crash.
