Past Assaults: Police Will Investigate Allegations Made Against Gordon School

A former faculty member is being accused of improper sexual conduct involving a student in the 1970's.

EAST PROVIDENCE — A former Gordon School student recently told school officials about a teacher's improper sexual behavior, the East Providence Police said Tuesday. The allegations go back to the 1970's. Police have started a preliminary investigation.

The Gordon School has hired Neal McNamara, of Nixon Peabody, LLP, to serve as an independent investigator and liaison with the East Providence Police Department.

No current faculty members were employed at the Gordon School when the alleged behavior took place.
