Police Arrest East Providence Men Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girl

The incident allegedly took place at the Central Avenue playground on April 21.

East Providence police have charged a man accused of sexually assaulting a teenaged girl on a playground. 

According to the police report, the girl told police she had been at basketball courts on Central Avenue when a fight broke out. The incident allegedly took place on April 21.

She said she decided to leave when she was approached by two males she knew from Facebook as Deezy and David. She didn’t know the third male, but had seen him hanging out with his older brother.

She said Deezy took her cellphone and started to throw it to the two other males. She said Deezy told her she would have to do something to get her phone back. She said she started to leave and when she got to the tables under the tents, the males approached her and started to hit her with their belts. Then Deezy and David forced her to sit on the table and would not let her leave, according to the report.

She said David held her while Deezy sexually assaulted her by holding her head and attempting to place his penis in her mouth while also feeling her breasts and putting his hand between her legs. Deezy also punched her with a closed fist on the left side of her face. She said she was afraid and Deezy and David would not let her go.

She was eventually given her phone back by David and let go, according to the report. She said she is afraid of all three males.

, 19, of 1168 Warren Ave. has been arrested on charges of second-degree sexual assault, conspiracy, simple assault and attempted first-degree sexual assault.

David Hedges, 18, of 19 Leroy Drive, has also been charged with second-degree sexual assault, simple assault and conspiracy, according to East Providence Detective Captain Richard Frazier.
