Residents rallied outside the on Thursday afternoon to protest signs held by two young men affiliated with political organization LaRouchePAC. The signs reading "Remove Obama" showed the president wearing a Hitler mustache.

According to City Mayor Bruce Rogers, at about 1 p.m., a small group congregated to cover the signs from the public while the city manager found an ordinance that prohibits uncivil free-standing signs. Police monitored the situation.

Members of the LaRouchePac oppose certain U.S. financial firms and advocate for the institution of the Glass-Steagall Act to "wipe out the bankrupt banking system," according a pamphlet given out by one of the two young men.

"On April, 2009, LaRouche proved that President Obama was nothing but a carbon-copy of the Roman Emperor Nero; a worse and more dangerous despot than Adolf Hitler," reads one of the pamplets.

Affirmative Action Officer Elmer Pina was also opposed to the pictures comparing the president to Hitler.

"I understand Freedom of Speech," he said. "But if you're going to give out information, give out real information. Don't tell us President Obama is the reason we're in a recession."
