UPDATED: Rhode Island's Pro Ultimate Team Plays First Game in East Providence
The 25-member team plays its first game against Connecticut Constitution at 3 p.m. at Pierce Stadium. They lost by six points.

Rhode Island Rampage, the state's only professional Ultimate team, played its first game against conference team Connecticut Constitution at on Saturday.
According to team owner Emerson Kilgore, the team lost 29 to 23.
"We had a great game," he wrote immediately after the game. "We did lose 29 to 23 but I am very happy with the turnout and the energy of the event."

Ultimate is a sport played with a 175 gram flying disc. The objective of the game is to score points by passing the disc to a player in the opposing end zone, similar to an end zone in American football or rugby. Players may not run with the disc, and may only move one foot while holding the disc, according to the team's website.
Kilgore said 5 million people worldwide are Ultimate fans. He thinks the sport will catch on.

"It's something different...It's up and coming," he said.
The team plays home games at Pierce Field and holds practices in Massachusetts. Kilgore anticipates team members will be taking buses or vans to away games as far as Michigan and Tennessee.
Tickets are $10 and can be bought at the game. Users can live stream the game from their computer.
