Riverside Designer Kara Wickman Puts Her Fashion to the Test for a Good Cause

Riverside resident Kara Wickman hopes you'll come out for a good cause—and to see some fun fashion.

The Barrington High School and University of Rhode Island graduate is one of 17 designers featured next week as part of StyleWeek Providence. Wickman will debut her collection, Oui, on the runway Monday night.

Then on Wednesday night, she and the other designers are participating in a competition called the Go Red StyleWeek Challenge to benefit the American Heart Association. Wickman and the other participants have each designed original red dresses for the event. It's the only show open to the public.

The competition will be held Wednesday, Jan. 19 in the Grand Ballroom at the Providence Biltmore. Tickets are $30.
