Robert J. Cayer, a firefighter in East Providence for 32 years, died on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Linn Health Care Center. He was 92.
He was the husband of the late Mary R. (Grant) Cayer and the late Norna I. (Beeby) Cayer. Born in New Britain, Conn., he was a son of the late William and Leila (Danforth) Cayer.

Cayer was an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are today, Jan. 7, from 6 to 8 pm at Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 8 am from Perry-McStay with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, Newport Avenue, Pawtucket.
Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
