Rumford Baking Powder Hosting Community Bake-Off
This Mother's Day, show off your best recipes--made with Rumford Baking Powder, of course.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — This Mother's Day, bakers across the state are invited to enter the Great Rumford Bake-Off for a chance to take home a cash prize. The event is part of the East Providence Historical Society's Old-Fashioned Family Fun Day at the Hunt's Mill.
Contestants can enter any dessert baked good, including cakes, cookies, dessert bars, cakey breads, scones or muffins. Each baker can only enter one item, and all entries must contain Rumford baking powder.
Registration for the contest is open until May 1. To enter, fill out the registration form and mail it in with a check for the registration fee to:

There are two categories of the competition, kids (aged nine through 17) and adults (ages 18 and older). Registration costs $5 for kids and $10 for adults. The top baker in each group will take home a trophy and a cash prize, $200 for adults and $100 for kids. Second- and third-place winners will receive a ribbon and gift card.
On the day of the competition, contestants should check in between 11 and 11:30 a.m. Winners will be announced around 2 p.m. Along with their baked item, entrants are required to bring an ingredient list.
Baked goods will be judged based on appearance, taste and creativity, with each category offering a maximum of 10 points.
