Schools Finish Move into City Hall

The move into City Hall for the East Providence School Department was completed last week during the spring break, according to the East Providence Post.

The administration was housed in a former school building on Burnside Avenue in Riverside for more than 20 years. It has been put up for sale with several other surplus buildings and parcels of land in East Providence. 

All school departments are now housed on the third floor of City Hall. The decision to move the administration was made by the Budget Commission as part of a consolidation effort. The relocation did require the construction of two offices in City Hall. They were built in Room 306.

To accommodate additional vehicles, the city built an additional parking lot across Grove Avenue behind the Weaver House.
