Kids Picked for All-State Ensembles

Nine East Providence seventh- and eighth-graders at Martin Middle School have been selected to perform in the All-State Band and All-State Chorus.

Nine Martin Middle School seventh- and eighth-graders have been selected to perform in the RI All-State band or chorus junior division concerts next March.

Alexander Flower (trombone), Andrew Rogers (trumpet) and Taylor Texeira (baritone saxophone) have been chosen for the All-State Band, said Susana Pimentel, band director at the East Providence school.

Selected to sing in the All-State Chorus are Dorian Amado (bass), Chris Concepcion (tenor), Erin St. Hilaire (soprano), Rachel Lavalley (alto), Daniel Strother (tenor) and Taliq Tillman (tenor).

The concerts are scheduled for Sunday, March 24, at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Providence. They are sponsored by the Rhode Island Music Educators Association (RIMEA).

Tickets for the concerts are $10 and will be sold at the door or at any of the three rehearsals scheduled before the event.
