Tradition and Taste Draw Crowds to Dari Bee
Patch brings you a look at East Providence's creameries in anticipation of National Ice Cream Day on Sunday.
The Dari Bee's iconic ice cream cone is a recognizable landmark on Bullocks Point Avenue and has been since 1958. The family-owned business serves 40 flavors of hard-serve ice cream, which are constantly being updated. The newest flavor is pumpkin.
Dari Bee staff say all the flavors sell well, but there's no doubt about the best-selling sundae. Customers gravitate toward the brownie fudge sundae, a confection of chocolatey deliciousness.
In addition to ice cream and sundaes, the Dari Bee also sells frozen yogurt, frozen lemonade, shakes, and flurries. Bikers on the East Bay Bike Path, which runs right behind the ice cream store, are encouraged to drop by for a refreshing summer treat.
