Travel Writer to Speak at Library
Peter Mandel, a travel journalist and children's book author, will talk at 7 pm on Monday, Jan. 14, at Weaver Library in East Providence.

Providence Journal travel writer Peter Mandel will discuss his adventures and misadventures on the road on Monday, Jan. 14, at the Weaver Library on Grove Avenue. His free talk starts at 7 pm.
Mandel, who also is the author of 11 books for children, is a regular contributor to the travel sections of The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, National Geographic Kids and The Huffington Post, along with The Providence Journal.

He's also a regular blogger and contributor to the travel and politics pages of The Huffington Post.
His trips have brought him to the High Arctic, Burma, the Amazon jungle and the African bush, according to the Providence Journal.
