Truck Crashes Into East Providence Home, Driver Charged With DUI
The crash caused severe structural damage to the home and a natural gas leak, which forced residents to evacuate.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — A driver was arrested after crashing his truck into an East Providence home Thursday while under the influence, according to police.
Fire officials said the crash happened around 5 a.m. on Tab Avenue. The crash caused severe structural damage and a natural gas leak.
Fire officials said residents were home when the crash happened. Emergency officials evacuated them, and none of them suffered any injuries.

The driver and their passenger ran away after the crash, but were apprehended by police. Police told WPRI 12 both suffered injuries. The driver, who police have yet to identify, is facing DUI charges.
