Warren Avenue Fire Tuesday Displaced Nine

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI— Fire earlier this week destroyed the third floor of a multi-family house on Warren Avenue. According to East Providence fire Chief Oscar M. Elmasian.

He said nine people -- three adults and six children -- had been displaced.

"It's not a total loss," he said, but the third floor was uninhabitable. The investigation was continuing as to the cause, he said on Tuesday.

The American Red Cross was helping three families after the fire, according to its spokesman Nicholas Pappadia.
