The stage play is an adaptation of Mel Brooks's "Young Frankenstein" 1974 movie. It ran for almost 500 shows on Broadway in 2007.
Theater teacher MaryAnn Lasorsa decided the play would be a great show to bring to East Providence High School because is was extremely funny, real slaptsick humor. It will be the final production of Jim Manchester, the troop's stage director, who is retiring.
