• After initially refusing, Rhode Island lawmaker living in SC resigns (scdailygazette.com) — Exeter residents are losing their longtime state representative a few months earlier than expected, as Julie Casimiro has resigned her District 31 seat after moving to South Carolina and facing residency questions. Her departure means no special election will be held, and three Democrats will compete in a Sept. 9 primary to fill the North Kingstown–Exeter seat for the next term.
