Today's riddle: Why are elevator jokes so good ? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Glocester Tables Old Killingly Pond Dam Support Letter (upriseri.com) — Glocester residents should know the Town Council has delayed signing a support letter on Connecticut's enforcement action over the Old Killingly Pond dam until the town solicitor reviews it for liability concerns before September 17. Councilors say they are fully behind restoring the pond, which straddles Glocester and Connecticut, but want to avoid any wording that could saddle the town with financial or legal obligations.
• Glocester Dam Owner Objects to State Fines Over Repairs (upriseri.com) — A Glocester property owner told the Town Council he faces a possible $25,000 fine over repairs to a pond dam he says the state originally built, highlighting growing frustration with dam rules. Council members reiterated their push to shift emergency action plan responsibilities and related penalties from towns to dam owners, while also moving ahead with drafting required plans and revisiting volunteer help on September 17.
