• Sexual Assualt Charges Filed In 2005 Cold Case Crime: AG (patch.com) — Hopkinton residents are learning that a former town resident has been charged in connection with a 2005 sexual assault on a 45-year-old stranger in Hopkinton, after the case went cold for years. The Attorney General's Office and Hopkinton police reopened the investigation in 2026, using new DNA and investigative techniques that led to the suspect's arrest and arraignment this week.
• Hopkinton Halts Brushy Brook Clearing With Cease-And-Desist (upriseri.com) — Hopkinton residents told the Town Council that tree clearing began on a 358-acre Brushy Brook parcel before conditions were met, prompting town staff to issue a cease-and-desist order. Neighbors described noise, safety worries, and long-running concerns about housing and solar proposals, zoning "floating zones," and enforcement, while officials emphasized that any zoning changes or condition reviews must follow formal public processes.
• Hopkinton Blocks League of Women Voters Market Table (upriseri.com) — Hopkinton residents raised concerns that the League of Women Voters was blocked from setting up a voter-information table at a town-owned field just before its first farmers market appearance, despite earlier participation in the town's 250th celebration. Speakers urged the Town Council to post clear, accessible facility-use policies online and improve physical access at the community center, while officials said a revised policy is being drafted but gave no timeline.
