• Vehicle crashes into tree in Ashaway (newportdispatch.com) — A 20-year-old Hopkinton resident was seriously injured after crashing into a tree on Route 216 in nearby Ashaway, with Hopkinton Police first spotting the speeding vehicle on High Street. Local fire and ambulance crews extricated and treated the driver before an emergency helicopter flew them to Rhode Island Hospital. Police are still investigating and asking any witnesses to contact Hopkinton detectives.
