$1,000 Reward: Information about Person Who Abandoned Chihuahua at Johnston Petsmart
The dog was left in a cardboard box and was so ill veterinarians decided it was best to put the animal to sleep.

JOHNSTON, RI—The state Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has turned to social media for the public's help solving a case of animal abandonment. The story does not have a happy ending. Although the Chihuahua was found alive in a Petsmart parking lot on Saturday and taken to a veterinarian, the animal was deemed to sick to recover and was put to sleep for humane reasons. Anyone who saw the person abandon the dog or has information about the incident is asked to contact the SPCA's Dr. E.J. Finocchio by e-mail at rispca@aol.com or telephone at (401) 438-8150 or the Johnston Police, Detective Lopez at (401) 757-3119.
