1 Dead Following Rollover Crash On I-295 South

JOHNSTON, RI — One person was killed in a rollover crash on Interstate 295 South Friday afternoon. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, Rhode Island State Police said.

The crash happened just after 3 p.m. between Exits 9 and 10, state police said. When emergency crews arrived, the driver had been thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time and it has not yet been determined if any other vehicles were involved.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
