Sons of Liberty Spirit Company a new Rhode Island Tradition returns to the 5th Annual Big Toast to benefit BBBSOS

Sons of Liberty Spirit Company (SOL) has confirmed that they will be a return vendor for the fifth year at The Big Toast, a food, wine, spirit and craft beer tasting event with over 50 local vendors to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State (BBBSOS).    SOL, which created their first variety of whiskey, UPRISING, in 2011, reminds its drinkers that whiskey essentially starts out as beer and then it continues on through the distilling process to create the final product.  SOL started with a couple of questions: "Why is no one distilling single malt whiskies from the beers we love?" and "Why are there so many seasonal beers, but no seasonal whiskies?" With a spirit for innovation, we set out to create a line of whiskies the world had never seen.  Today they are proud to lead the rebirth of American Whiskey by challenging century old traditions with American Single Malt Whiskies born from distinctly flavorful beers and the first ever seasonal line of whiskies.SOL has won several prestigious awards since its inception. Most notable is winning the 2014’s World Whiskey Awards World’s Best Flavored Whiskey for their pumpkin spice whiskey and in 2015 SOL was awarded Best American Flavored Whiskey by the World Whiskey Awards for their Hop Flavored Whiskey. Bryan Ricard, who is known as ‘The Gopher’ at the distillery, mentioned how the Pumpkin Spice Whiskey truly brings the community together. “Each year we use 16,000 2 lb. sugar pumpkins from Carpenter Farms to make our seasonal whiskey.  Friends, family and volunteers come in to wash, core and peel each pumpkin by hand.  Every person who volunteers their time gets to take home a bottle of the Whiskey.  Volunteers sign several of the bottles, each as distillers. It really takes a village to raise a Whiskey.”

Bryan is excited that SOL will be returning to be a part of the Fifth Annual Big Toast.  “This event is such a great way to get our product in front of a captive audience who not only enjoys high end products but who cares for the community.  I can’t think of a better way to promote our product and every year, The Big Toast is always our favorite.”
