All Middletown Beaches Open for Swimming
The Department of Health has cleared two local beaches safe for swimming again.
All Middletown beaches are open to swimming today.
The Rhode Island Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday evening announced the reopening of Third and Atlantic beaches after the latest water samples showed bacteria was within safe limits.
The DOH had recommended the closures of Third Beach and Atlantic Beach in Middletown on Tuesday due to elevated bacteria levels.

DOH officials will continue to monitor the water quality throughout the summer. Water quality analysis is conducted by the DOH laboratory or a state certified laboratory.
