Bites Nearby: The Pier Imports World Flavors for Local Fare

A casual restaurant with fantastic food, Newport's best bay view, an award-winning chef and prix fixe menu. Need we say more?

“Sitting on the dock of the bay,” literally, in Newport is They brag about having the best view in Newport and indeed it is.

A Spring Prix Fixe menu is in effect now; three course dinners are offered for $19.00 or $23.00 with a glass of wine. Choose from grilled New York sirloin, salmon, or Chilean Sea Bass with salad, chowder or spicy shrimp sauté and strawberry short cake for dessert. This menu is available Sunday thru Wednesday.

Award-winning chef, Kevin M. Gaudreau, formerly of the Ruth Chris Steak House and Trattoria Simpatico in Jamestown, brings his innovative style to The Pier. He combines local fare with an international flavor. Testimony to this is Chef Gaudreau’s shrimp and lobster spring rolls that are to die for. Filled with tender vegetables, lobster and shrimp and dusted with black sesame seeds they are served with citrus soy in a sweet pepper glaze. Just delicious.
